Fun Outing to See Mike the Tiger
We had a fun little outing this morning at LSU. We went see Mike the Tiger at had lunch at the Chimes. I was finally able to show Mimi and Pop Pop my name on the wall at the Chimes from college. It's so much fun having them here in Baton Rouge!

Caroline Said WHAT?!
Today, as I was walking to the girls' bedrooms to fold and put away clothes, the kids were playing in the living room with a ball. I told them to not throw the ball, to roll it. As I begin folding clothes, I overhear Caroline telling the others, "Mommy's not in here. We can throw the ball!" Little STINKER!
Needless to say, she was quickly put into timeout. I hope she learns quickly that disobeying her mama is NOT OK. ;)

Catherine had homework for the very first time this afternoon. She had to read her decodable book "I Am" and complete this worksheet. She was so excited to have homework!

Mommy's Girls' Day in Covington
What a MUCH NEEDED GIRLS' DAY today!! Mommy hadn't seen her high school friends since before March, and today we finally got together! Aimee planned the special day. We had brunch, followed by a wine tasting at her house. We cancelled dinner plans and ordered pizza so we could continue lounging and visiting and LAUGHING. I missed these ladies so much and love them even more!

Catherine's First Day of Kindergarten
It was a BIG day over here! Catherine started Kindergarten today! She was so excited and was sitting up in bed when I went to wake her up. She was all smiles and not at all nervous. Her teachers this year are Mrs. Cannon (homeroom), Mrs. Owens, and Mrs. Capdevielle.
On the way home from school, this is what Catherine told me about her day...

Her teacher is so nice. She loves her desk and sits by the bucket of dinosaurs. She played red light green light at recess. It was her class' turn to play on the field today, but they'll have the playground tomorrow. She ate her chicken, biscuit, and apples for lunch. Her teacher read The Kissing Hand and she gave everyone a bag of Hershey Kisses to take home. She painted a raccoon rainbow colors. She only got one snack instead of two like last year and it was goldfish. Her nap was shorter than last year, but the floor is harder.
Today was her staggered entry day, so there were only 7 in class. Tomorrow will be the first day for everyone in her class to be there. She can't wait for tomorrow!
Daddy and I love you so much and are so proud of you. You work hard and you have a kind heart. We pray you continue to be the confident and sweet person that you are.
Have a wonderful year lovebug.
